Synopsis: A collection of 5 short stories featuring the Tsukumo family during Kazuma and Mirai's visit.

(Yuma was at a loss for words as he choked back tears. He then simply threw his arms around his parents, pulling them into a hug.)

Synopsis: Yuma and Yuya have a late night discussion.

( Yuma quickly sat up and jumped down from the hammock and scooped up the duel disk to answer it. When he did, a small holographic screen popped up, showing Yuya, who looked almost as baffled that Yuma had even answered. )

- Missing -

Synopsis: Yuma desperately searches for Kotori who's gone missing.

( Yuma stopped talking when Akari simply lifted her arms up and gently placed them on Yuma's shoulders. She didn't say anything to him. She just shook her head slowly with a deflated look on her face. )

- Proposal -

Synopsis: Yuma loses something important he has planned to give to Kotori.

( She'd never seen Yuma look so dejected so fast before. He slapped a hand to his face before walking over to the log and slumping into a sitting position on it. )

- Stepping Forward -

Synopsis: Kotori has a chat to Juudai, while meeting his baby daughter.

( The last month had been the most difficult Kotori had to face. )

- Yuma & Kotori's Forest Adventure -

Characters: Kotori Mizuki, Yuma Tsukumo, Hope
Synopsis: After Kotori flees into the mountain forest in her demon form, Yuma goes after her on his own, hoping to find her and bring her home.

(He kicked himself for every argument they'd had over the previous weeks, for not stopping to think at the time that something was scaring her so badly that she was trying to keep her distance from him.)

- Things to Protect -

Synopsis: Kotori makes a decision to help protect those close to her.

( ... I have things I want to protect. Sis, granny, my friends, this city... you... I'd fight to protect all of that if I had too. )

Synopsis: Kotori opens up to Yuma about the memories that have been bothering her.

( By the end, that's all I was. A weapon. A soldier. Someone moulded to his view. To be like him. )

- Haunted Memories - Part 2: Shared Pain -

Characters: Kotori Mizuki, Yuma Tsukumo, Yuto Sakaki
Synopsis: Kotori and Yuto talk about the memories they're struggling to deal with.

( No matter what ... you now have a family that loves you, Yuto. I think that's what you need to focus on, rather than the past you're trying to run from. )

Notes/Synopsis: This story is not canon to the RP timeline and was written as an experimental piece of Yuma and Yuya getting into trouble. This was written around the time we were considering giving Yuma and Yuya a plot to develop them as characters (which later became the Desperado plot)
Yuma and Yuya get into a spot of trouble against a mysterious assailant who is targeting them.

( Maybe he couldn't protect Yuya like this, but he would rather die trying than die giving up. )

- Heartbroken -

Characters: Kotori Mizuki, Yuma Tsukumo, Yuya Sakaki, Akari Tsukumo, Haru Tsukumo
Synopsis/Notes: This event is not canon to the RP timeline and was a theoretical/exploration piece I wrote exploring the a gap between Yuzu disappearing and Yuya's Duel with Reiji just based within the RP setting. That and it just kept screaming at me to write it and also I wanted to make it sad and break people's hearts (You're welcome!).
Yuya struggles with Yuzu's disappearance and discovers she meant much more to him than he first realised.

( It's amazing... that after someone is gone, how much there is that you regret never telling them. )

- Entrusting Heart to a Friend -

Characters: Ruka Terasaki, Yuma Tsukumo
Synopsis: After talking to Yuma about her situation and her missing brother and friends, she finds that Yuma reminds her a lot of Rua.

( I think every group needs someone to be the heart of it. The one who keeps people smiling, the one who supports and protects their friends and who never gives up, no matter what the challenge. )

- Awakening -

Characters: Kotori Mizuki, Yuma Tsukumo, Aspiring Emperor Hope
Synopsis: Kotori's worsening headaches and vertigo causes an unusual backlash of a power that Kotori didn't know she had.

( Through the worry, he still tried his best to make her smile with his upbeat attitude and huge grins. Though she knew behind it, he was hiding a lot of pain and worry over her. )

- Kotori's Resolve -

Characters: Kotori Mizuki, Yuma Tsukumo, Akari Tsukumo, Haru Tsukumo,
Synopsis: Kotori struggles to cope in the aftermath of the Heartland disaster, but finds a new resolve through Yuma.

( I want to go home....! I want to see my family again...! I just want to go back home to Heartland...! )

- Reunion -

Characters: Yuma Tsukumo, Kazuma Tsukumo, Mirai Tsukumo, Kotori Mizuki
Synopsis: Yuma meets with his parents for the first time in seven years and learns of his relation to the Astrals.

( Although we knew Eliphas was going to try and influence you, we had confidence in you and we believed that no matter what, you would follow and stick to the path you felt was right. )

- Memorial -

Characters: Yuma Tsukumo, Kotori Mizuki
Synopsis: While on a Valentine's Day date, Kotori takes Yuma to see the Heartland Memorial she had made.

( As far as Yuma was concerned, as long as his family were here, as long as they were carrying on living their lives, then whoever attacked Heartland hadn't won. )

- Discussions -

Characters: Yuma Tsukumo, Aspiring Emperor Hope, Yuya Sakaki
Synopsis: Yuma talks to Hope about Hope's past as an Astral. Afterwards, Yuya discusses with Yuma the suspicions he has over Kai and Koyo and their possible connection to the Barians.

( The Barian's world... is not Heartland. Do not let the guilt you feel for the loss of your own home, drive the desire to save theirs. )

- The Fall of Heartland -

Characters: Akari Tsukumo, Haru Tsukumo, Yuma Tsukumo, Kotori Mizuki, Kana Mizuki, Yuya Sakaki
Synopsis: A mysterious army suddenly attacks Heartland with no warning, prompting Yuma's family and Kotori to flee the city.

- The Airship -

Characters: Yuma Tsukumo, Aspiring Emperor Hope, Yuya Sakaki
Synopsis: Hope finds himself in a strange place, resulting in the appearance of an Airship at Duel Academy Island.

( Although this was all new to him, the technology and power of the ship felt eerily familiar to him. )
